Just the current fad.... in button holes, on tags, in place of ribbon, just anywhere you feel like. I bought a 20 yard spool for Christmas time projects - just enough for my projects. I still have some left. I can't imagine buying all these in large quantities just because it is less expensive (per yard) and ending up with a bunch I don't end up using as the current fad fades.
Thanks for the info about baker's twine. I did order from Reasonable Ribbon. I ordered just now so now I can't wait for it to be here. Thanks again. Kathy
i got some at Michaels after Christmas, it was Martha Stewart brand, cute little 6 packs marked at $1! it had red, green and brown. so, watch for next yrs markdowns!

Here's where I got mine - 12 colors, a total of 60 yards. I love the airmail twine as my sister's birthday is the 4th of July, so I am always looking for things red, white and blue.
I am in Canada and ordered the sampler pack from the Twinery. I am in love with their twine! Such great quality and it arrived fast and the shipping was very reasonable
has anyone ordered from COUNTRY CLEAN PAPER SUPPLIES !!! lately? I'm thinking of ordering from them. i want to use the twine for packaging etc for sales.
Yikes.... Reasonable Ribbon has great price and selection but not reasonable (no pun intended lol) shipping prices to Canada.... anyone else know of some place with decent shipping to Canada? TIA!!
I bought a selection of twine from Greenmunch, Bakers Twine | Canada, and they have great prices and great options for choosing several different colours in 15-yard samples, or you can even choose 2-yard samples and get free shipping. Even better, they are in Alberta- Sherwood Park. They carry both Divine Twine and The Twinery. I was very happy with my purchase from them!
Couldn't you just get real bakers twine at the grocery store and use re-inkers to colour to match your product? I saw a big spool of it today for about $2.
Actually I did see a tutorial on making your on Baker's Twine. I can't remember where I saw it. Might have been on You Tube. If you Google "making your own" I bet that you can find it.
The instructions included these supplies:
ruler
masking tape
marker
twine
scotch tape
As I remember it I wrapped the ruler with masking tape
used scotch tape to hold one end of the twine to one end of the ruler and wrapped the twine around the ruler in a spiraling fashion and attaching it at the other end with another piece of scotch tape.
Using the marker I made random marks along both sides and removed the twine. It does indeed work out great.
The draw back is the tedium of doing this for many colors. I think if one has the money that buying an assortment is the way to go.
I was in A.C. Moore just yesterday and they have a great selection of Baker's Twine in 4 different colors per package and in more reasonable lengths for cards. They even had Halloween colors.
On a side note, they had a really big package of 6 different colored hemp for 6.99 which I bought with my 50% off coupon.
