Default ?? for Big Shot Pro owners

I am thingk about getting a big shot pro, because of the ability to cut and emboss 12x12 for my scrapbooking.

Are you happy you bought?

Can I use nestabilities with it, and the grand nestabilites?

Hi, I bought mine about three months ago. I still have a Quickutz Squeeze, an old Red Sizzix, and my 'Bug. I was looking at the various machines, and it seemed to me the biggest problem was that as soon as you settled on a machine, companies started bringing out bigger dies/folders that wouldn't fit some machines. So I decided to save up & get the biggest machine I could find, which is the BS Pro. I figure no-one is going to make anything this machine can't take. At the moment, it will take every die available, including Nesties, Grand Nesties, Tim Holtz, Bigz etc. My machine will take a full 12x12 sheet of paper on the tray.
Do be aware that there are a variety of plates & shims available, which you will need for various 'sandwich' stacks, and certainly over here(UK), the machine only came with a couple. That said, I did not find the other plates expensive to purchase.
Also, you want to have a place to use the BS Pro where you will not need to move it. It is very large and very heavy. The Big Shot Pro Machine measures approximately 24 1/4" x 15" x 7 1/2". ( This is their measurement, but you need to add on about 6" to the width of 15" to allow for the handle). It weighs in the region of 44lbs.
I find it easy to use, the handle turn is about the same as a 'Bug. I love the fact that I can put multiple Nesties or embossing folders on a tray and cut/emboss them all at the same time. You can cut/emboss multiple anything as long as the dies are the same thickness.HTH.

For what its worth, while looking at the BSP, also check out the Accucut GrandeMark. They are similarly priced (on sale right now). It can cut larger shapes than the BSP. I looked at getting a BSP before I settled on the Accucut Mark IV (I found one locally, used - no shipping). And I love it. It can cut anything the BSP can cut (with shims), plus all the Accucut dies (they have a lot and are available on Ebay, too). Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know, the BSP cannot cut Accucut dies because they are too thick. Accucut dies are super quality (made for schools, churches, etc). Accucut also sells texture/embossing plates but I cant use them with my Mark IV. For cutting big stuff like envelopes, cards and boxes, Accucut dies are (pun intended) to die for!

I don't know how "heavy duty" you want your machine to be, but you may want to check out this thread I started a couple weeks ago about a new machine. Its by Fiskars and it has a 12.5" wide platform. Have you all seen this new die cut/letterpress system from Fiskars? by cat_woman at Splitcoaststampers
