Question Cameras

Hey all,

I'm looking into getting a new camera - does anyone have a Canon Powershot SX130 IS? Do you have any comments on it (good and/or bad)?

I have the Powershot SX20 IS. It is probably a very good camera, but so much of the stuff is beyond me. I'm just as happy with the little 3.2 olympus camera that I've had for 8 years or so. I do wish that I had had IS on my camera when I was in Paris trying to get pictures of the Eiffel tower all from a boat on very choppy water. We bought the Powershot after we got home from that trip.

My daughter has played around a lot more with her SX20 and she can make movies on it.

Hope you find one you like.

I have the Canon Powershot SX20 IS. It is a pretty good camera, but it has a lot of stuff that I can't figure out. I'm just as happy with my 3.2 Olympus except for the IS. I would have liked to have that when I was trying to get night shots of the Eiffel Tower from a boat on very choppy water. We bought the SX20 after we got home.

Our daughter has the same SX20, and she does more with hers, including making movies.

Hope you find something you like.

I have an older Canon Power Shot, which I've owned for about 6 years. I love it! Many people who see my photos say they look like professional shots. I tell them it's not because I'm a great photographer; it's because I have a great camera. Canon is also an excellent company that stands behind its products. A few years ago, I had a "known problem" with the image stabilizer, and they couldn't have been more helpful. Not only did I not have to pay for any shipping whatsoever, but my camera was repaired and shipped to me the day they received it. I haven't had a problem since. (Now, Kodak is another story. I would NEVER buy another Kodak product again. And Canon is NOT paying me to recommend their products. ) Go ahead and get that Canon.

I just bought the Nikon Coolpix L120 4 weeks ago & I have to tell you I LOVE this camera. I didn't want all the bells & whistles (too complicated for me) I just wanted a point & shoot camera & have it do all the work for me & shoot videos too (have not used the video for crafting yet but will in the future). This camera is perfect for me!!! I did a lot of research & read a lot of reviews & talked to the guy at Best Buy about it (actually went to the store 3 times with questions before finally buying it. Took it on vacation & the pictures are fabulous. I have not crafted since buying this camera but have taken a few pics of cards that I had made before buying the camera (have not posted those yet) & they came out fantastic. Now if only I could figure out how to use Photoshop Elements software I'll be all set. Just a little review for you, hope that helps you out. Good luck!

Oh by the way I used to be a Canon girl through & through till I met up with this camera! Just sayin'!

I do have this camera and I love it! I have always been a Canon junkie and I have never had any problems with any of my Canon cameras. This camera takes great pics even in Auto mode, and the zoom is awesome. I have taken pictures to the farthest zoom setting, and the photo is still good and a lot less grainy compared to other cameras I have tried. Even the video is good. My two latest video tutorials are made using this camera. For batteries, I use the Energizer Ultimate Lithium and they last a long time. I also like its face detection feature. I guess I can go on and on... but I really love this particular model. Good luck on your purchase

Double check that camera to make certain it doesn't take regular batteries, which I think it does. They go out fast. I ended up with the Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS Small, compact but really pretty pictures. Check out Steves Digicams - Digital Camera Reviews, Camera News, and Photography Information It has a lot of great information on all different cameras.

:pMy daughter has this camera & when she has developed some of the pics the salesperson has asked her if they were professionally done......they were that good. She has taken many fantastic photos with this little camera. I have a Nikon & although I am very satisfied with it, I also purchased the Canon because it is a smaller camera & I can carry it in my purse and know that I will get great pics from it too. :p
