So here I am, stuck off in the stamping wilderness known as Switzerland. And I keep seeing the beautiful red glitter paper SU is selling, being used on many different cards. It is so gorgeous and shimmery and RED! But also, super, super, super expensive. gulp!
So, then I wondered if there are any other manufacturers of similiar glitter paper, and I found a few sample being sold by Die Cuts with a View. But I can't tell from the picture provided by the site how truly glittery they are, and how deep the color is.
Can anyone who has used both these products, or at least seen them in person, tell me their honest opinions of them? How thick or thin they each are, how glittery they are, how true the colors are, and if the SU paper is really worth the price?
SU! is the only glitter paper that I have seen that the glitter doesn't rub off or shake off. I don't like DCWV papers so I can't compare weights, etc., but I will tell you that SU's is fabulous.

Take a look at the glitter paper from Best Creation. It is fantastic. (Based on my catalog, I'm guessing SU's is close to this, but SU only comes in red.)
I love Best Creations papers. Now I haven't seen their red glitter paper but all of the other glitters on their papers are beautiful. I think they are all going to be in the same price range because they are all in competition. About 1.99 a sheet US money.

I have quite a selection of DCWV glitter cardstock and I love it - the glitter on it doesn't rub or shake off and some of the colors are just delicious. It's pretty heavyweight, though - you can get thru it with some punches but not all.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen the SU! paper in person, so I can't compare it. I'd love for someone who has seen both to compare it; I've been wondering about it myself.

Thank you so much!

I buy Core'dinations Glitter paper. It doesn't rub off when you rub your hand on it, plus you can dry emboss, then sand for a glittery-distressed really cool look. It's easy to get here in the States but I don't know how easy you can get it in Switzerland. I buy it at Joann on sale for 6 sheets for $1. There are lots of colors, too! It comes in 12x12 and 8.5x11.
EDIT: It is a lot more glittery in person than on their website, but not as glittery as Die Cuts With a View (which, while being a great look, DCWV rubs off REALLY bad when I bought it before...maybe they've improved it. I haven't bought any in 3 years.)
ANother edit - the website says its not sandable but I sand it all the time without problems...And I was wrong, this particular line of Core'dinations is ONLY 12x12.
Thank you so much for all your replies, ladies. I will be placing an SU order during Sellabration and then picking it up when I come visit family this summer. Now I have a better idea of what some of my options are for obtaining this glittery gorgeousness!
Yes, being stuck in Switzerland is actually pretty darn fantastic, but it sure does cramp my stamping style. However, one positive is that the latest fad/gadget has come, been tested, proved to be either a keeper or a dud, and gone on sale before I even hear about it! hahaha
DCVW glitter paper is too thick to score or punch IMHO. I like it for layering or die cutting, but not for punches. I can cut and punch the SU without much problem, but thick enough to hold up if I wanted to make a box.
