Default Copic refills

E00 -- that is the first Copic marker that I used until it was ran dry. I had thought it would be B000 or B0000 since I use those on larger (sky) areas. I guess it's time to break down and buy my first Copic refill.

What Copic shade did you need to refill first?

I think mine was the same as I use it for skin tone and do lots of people colouring. Also R20 which I use for rosie cheeks and flowers. Love my pinks. Well worth buying the refills, especially for those popular colours we all have. Mine being the bright colours.

From the beginning I made a habit of buying refills for all my markers, even the ones I don't use that often. It's worth the investment.

I think it was B000. I had an illustration project that had a ton of sky work. Then I think there was a yellow. Maybe Y13. I've bought a few refills, just in case ;)

My closest LSS is almost an hour away. They offer refills for $2.00. If I were closer, I wouldn't even buy refills except for my favorite colors. But I too have made a point to buy the refill when I buy the marker. My cousin is my personal shopper. When she goes shopping, she keeps an eye out for things she knows I like. She has found about 15-20 Sketch markers for me on clearance at $1.99 each, so I don't have refills for those yet. The first one I had to refill was either R22 or R24. This color family is what I started with; I wanted to make sure there was a full range, not just pink, red and burgundy. My first purchase was R22, R24 and R27. After trying these, I was a goner! Love my Copics!

Just a suggestion...when purchasing refills get the lighter colors first. That's seems to be what is used up quickly, at least with my experience.

I remember someone else saying that their store did refills for about $2. Like you, I have to drive 40-60 minutes to a scrapbook store but I don't think either offer a refill service.

I also need to get a package of brush tips. I ruined one of my brush tips when I was testing a Copic marker on a page sealed with gel medium. I thought the page was dry. Maybe not completely. Or maybe the alcohol in the marker reacted with the gel medium. I need to find out which before I try it again. :-)
