My hubby bought me a Bug for my birthday and I am bummed because I have had it for a whole week but I can't play with it. Every single accessory that he ordered with it is backordered!!! My local lss doesn't carry anything for the bug ( I can't fathom why!) and all the big retailers are at least a 45 minute drive away. I wanna play (stomps feet like toddler)!!!!

I found the best place to buy the alpha sets is on ebay. I got the red tag sale alpha for 29.99 including S/H, and it was brand new in package. Hope you can play soon. It is soooo much fun!

I know exactly how you feel mine is on pre order......... and I bought my accessories from the USA so Im patiently waiting..........................:(
I too feel your pain because I also only have the cuddlebug with no templates to use so I can only sit and look at it. I hope to remedy that this weekend though. I hope you get an opportunity to get some templates soon so you can play.
Ok, guys. Have you checked out allthatscraps.com? Free shipping if you spend $10 or more. I just checked, and she has lots of stuff in stock. She has *great* customer service!

I think that the Cuttlebug and the dies are the equivalent to the Nintendo Wii's and their WiiMotes. My daughter had the Wii and couldn't find any WiiMotes. For those who have the Cuttlebug, it the same 'cause it is hard to find the folders for them. And Provo has some more new A2 embossing folders and Cuttlebug dies coming soon like paisley. The embossing folders do add a lot of dimension and they are also affordable.
Good Luck!

They are great! I ordered several things for my cuttlebug for there. Very quick processing and had it before I knew it! I live an hour away from any store carring these and half of the time they are out of stock, so it is easier to order online!

I agree, allthatscraps.com are terrific. I have ordered folders from them twice so far and each time they've shipped within two days. It's only a bit over a week from then and I have them in my hot little hands - and I live in Australia! I appreciate the clear and upfront airmail prices for individual countries. No need to ask for a quote or even sign up first just to get that information from the shopping cart.
(not affiliated, just a happy customer etc etc ;) )
OMG that is horrible! Well at least you have the Cuttlebug! I may get one someday but I have to wait right now. We just bought a Wii and that overextended us a little bit. Oops!

They are coming out with a paisley folder? Be still my heart!!....but I'm bummed too because I just ordered the big shot starter impression kit just to get the paisely texture plate! I know I will like the Bug folder better, but if it is like other popular things mentioned on this site, it will be impossible to find for months. ;)
I guess I "cheated"...got the Bug but only 2 actual Cuttlebug Embossing folders. I've got lots I use though...Fiskars texture plates, Sizzix dies...I have put about every thing I can think of through that little puppy!
I'm with everyone else I buy my folders and dies from AllThatScraps.com also
Christine is great she gets the orders out right away. & with the Bugbucks and order buying certificates. You always get some money to go toward your next purchase. If you put a friends name down for referring you they get a Percentage off also so anyone is welcome to put my name down, all they want there is always more stuff to get.
Well I made that comment above before I saw the CB was on sale at JoAnns.. I think I've talked myself into buying it!

I haven't read all the posts, so forgive me if I repeat what someone has said...
www.eclecticpaperie.com has just about all of the current stuff in stock. They have the new stuff arriving soon. As a bonus, you can get a 10% discount by entering "scs" into the promo code area. You will be supporting a fellow SCS'er as well--JoyofStamping! She's an awesome lady. You get excellent customer service, btw. I have placed an order, but it is en route to me. I hate waiting!!! LOL!!

I read in crafting/business news articles that Provocraft (the makers of the Cuttlebug and the Cricut) majorly burned their LSS sales base with the Cricut boondoggle last year, and as a result many LSSs stopped carrying the big-ticket ProvoCraft tools.
I have the large sizzix machine with the adapter for thinner dies and embossing folders. Can I use the cuttlebug dies in this machine? I also have the smaller sizzix for the thin dies and embossing folders, will it work as well. I just want some versatility if it is at all possible.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hmmmm.......very interesting! Last time I was in my LSS they didn't have ANY CB stuff. I thought it was a very bad business on their part. This does shed some light on the subject.

Michelle328- how do you get your Fiskars plates to go through the bug? I have tried all the combinations with the plates but can't get it to fit. TIA

Yes, they all work in the Sizzix. In fact, I just bought the BigKick instead of the Cuttlebug because it's a little bigger and I can use the new Sizzix dies as well as all the others out there.

Bridget,
Thank you so much. I have been asking at JoAnn's but they said they didn't think so because it had its own machine. I have the large sizzix with converter. Is that all I need?
Thanks again for the response.
Yes, I just have the system converter on mine. I have been running the large embossing folders through no problem. I just played around with the smaller dies and couldn't get a clean cut until I placed an extra piece of cardstock on top of the die, as a shim, and then it worked perfectly. So go ahead and buy all the dies and embossing folders that your heart desires!

I should clarify that answer, I have the older sizzix and the new BigKick. All cuttlebug items work on both versions of the sizzix and they work on the older sizzix with the system converter. Have fun!

I went out yesterday and bought a few embossing folders and tried them out and love them! I am so excited. I bought one set of dies and found that I had a little trouble with them getting a clean cut with just one lowering of the handle, so I tried lowering the handle 2X and it worked fine, but I will try the shim idea. Thank you for the info and the tip.
