Default Die'sire Garden Party

Is anyone familiar with these dies? I have been asked to make wedding invitations for my friend's daughter and she wants me to use this die, but I am having a hard time getting it to cut consistently. I did find out these are meant to be cut 'facing up' and I have used shims and run it through a couple of times but it is still not consistent or cutting every where like it should. I would love any advise or tips from people who have had success with these.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not familiar with those particular dies, but I ALWAYS get good results when I use a self-healing mat instead of a regular cutting plate. I use the one designed to work with the AccuQuilt Go! (for fabric) and it's thinner than a regular plate, so you'll have to shim a bit, but it's considerably more forgiving than any other thing I've found. Here's a link to the one I have: GO! Cutting Mat-6" x 12" | AccuQuilt.com
I bought mine at Hobby Lobby with a coupon, and I've seen them at JoAnn's, as well...

I have had pretty good luck with this die using my Gemini Jr, and following the recommended sandwich, but I do run it through 2 or 3 times. It is a beautiful die.
