Default Glue Pad question

I have an essential Glue Pad and got it out this morning to play todays challenge. Unfortunately, I have never added the glue to the pad. So, I squirted the glue on. Two hours later I am still waiting for the glue to sink in. It is just sitting on top of the pad. Any ideas what is wrong or how to fix it?

You have to take the tip of your reinker and kind of "work it in." It is too thick to sink in on its own.

I picked up the bottle so I could work the glue in, and right there is the instruction to do just that! Thanks for the tip. Thankfully SCS does not kick out its weakest members or I would be out the door today. Thank You for your help.

I have a glue pad and have had no luck with it whatsoever! Do you think I need to really really saturate it with the glue or is there some trick I don't know? Can you tell me how you are using yours?
Thanks!

P.S. If SCS kicked people out, I'd be looooong gone!

I don't think it works well with glitter. But it does work really well with things like gold leaf and Pearl Ex.. Every time I use it, I add another squirt of glue to refresh it.

Thanks for your help! I had only tried it with glitter and it was a complete failure. How about beads? Or should I just use Tombo with those? I guess it would depend on what I'm trying to cover (?). What do you use heat and stick powder for? I bought some after a demonstration and can't remember what my goal was. Yikes!

On the positive side, I've made some very cute Halloween cards lately...

Heat and stick is great for glitter and pearl ex, and even flocking! For beads, though, you're better off using Crystal Effects or sticky strip. The thin glue of the pads or pens just don't hold well enough for beads. Don't underestimate the 2-way glue pen for glitter, though - it's practically all I use when adding sparkle!

OK -- I don't have a glue pad and wonder just what you would use it for if not for glitter. Don't know if I need this or not. (They most likely wouldn't even have let me join)

I have never had problems using my Tsuineko for glittering larger images. for fine detail I use the 2 way pen or Stickles now.

Yeah, if the glue pad is not good for glitter, what do I do with it?

I think it really matters what brand of glue pad you use. I bought the Martha Stewart one and it's not very good, for example. The Pallette glue pad is REALLY good for glitter and stuff, but I don't know where to get refills for it...
