Default Help with Erasing Smudged Sentiment ????

Hi All...I'm back looking for suggestions ?? or possibly an eraser that will erase a smudged sentiment on card I made today....of course I had it ALL finished, and the last thing was my sentiment...

I DID!! hold it front of the fan (going full blast I might add..haha) and when i went to attach it to my base card, my right wrist somehow?? smudged the side of it....grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know of a good eraser that I might try?? Oh..I stamped it with the Black VERSAFINE Archival Instant Dry Pigment Ink...(obviously it didn't dry instantly...)

Maybe I need to try a different ink ? but I thought I remember reading/seeing somewhere of an eraser that works on ink..(other than ball point pen ink, etc)

Any help, suggestions, tips, etc...gladly welcome!! Thanks!!!

can you stamp the sentiment on a seperate piece of paper, cut or punch it out and put it over the smudged one?

This is my best suggestion, too. I very rarely stamp sentiments directly on a card front for just this reason. It is usually the last thing to do, and if you goof you've messed up all your hard work.

I usually stamp or print my sentiment on white cardstock, and then punch it out, or use a Nestie, then mat it with coordinating paper.

Sometimes I make several cards alike, and then just add the sentiment when I need a card for whatever occasion.

Default Remember the classic statement...

Remember there are no mistakes in stamping, just opportunities for embellishment! ( At least that's what my demo says!)

Thanks ALL for your help !! That is the hardest thing for me in cardmaking is getting the sentiment on straight (even with my StampAMaJig!! hahaha) ..my hand shakes a little anyway, but I think because it's my LAST step on the card to finish it off, I probably get a little nervous which doesn't help my hand any...hahaha

I appreciate all the advice, and think I'll stick with the idea for cutting it out on a seperate piece and matting it...

Maybe S-UP will come up with an eraser ..for their inks!!?? That would be AWESOME!!

Any eraser that could take the ink off would have to be able to rub off the surface of the paper to the depth at which the ink had soaked. The surface of the paper would be damaged even if there was an eraser that could do that. I think you've already taken the best path - cutting it out on a separate piece of paper and covering up the smudged sentiment.

It takes more time and effort to fuss over the smudged card. Why not just make another one? Chalk it up to practice!
