Wink How Do you Store Your Ink Pads

I have been stamping for about a year now and have finally got a pretty decent selection of SU Stamp Pads. But now, I need some type of rack to store them in. Right now I just have them stacked on top of each other in a box. But I would like something alittle nicer and easier to use--especially when I want to use the bottom stamp pad! I know SU has a rack, but I am not ready to spend that kind of money and I don't have that many pads yet!

Thanks in advance for any help that you can give.

I have the SU Color Caddy for my ink pads. I love them (have 2). I put them on inexpensive lazy susans so that they would turn easily.

I finally got the SU! Caddy and am very happy with it - it keeps them all horizontal, in a small space and visible. I wish I had bought it a long time ago.

I got the Stackebo DVD holders from the Ikea store, had my sweetie put them up on the wall for me, they are super, as they hold 14 pads on each holder. Love it!
I actually got 6 of them, as I have all the colors of dye inks and quite a few of the craft pads, along with the neutrals and in colors, I needed that many! I still have a few slots open, but love having my ink on each rack by color groups.

Thanks Lisa, a DVD holder, thats a good idea. I know I would like the SU caddy, but I just can't justify $54 right now.

I could not justify spending that much on the caddy either. But when I hosted a party my "free" stuff totalled enough to purchase that. So, that made it ok?! ;)
I too have it on a lazy susan (even though it has one, I like putting it on a larger one for stability) and it's great! I've even invested in the extender kit for it. I think it is well worth it..

I have one colour family in the box it came it and it works for now...

The "loose" ink pads are currently stacked in a dollar store apparatus. It isn't ideal but again, it works for now. (And perhaps I'll have enough pads for the caddy some day... sigh...) ;)

Ditto! They work wonderfully!!!! I have 4 of them--mine hold 17 stamp pads each. And they're $6.99 Canadian each. So cheap!:-D

I've also seen people nail them together into a color caddy and put it on a lazy susan if you don't want them nailed to your wall. Personally, I like them on my wall.;)

Right now I have mine in a little shelf thing that I got at Hobby Lobby. It was $11.99 but I got it 50% off. It works great for holding up to 24 pads, but my FIL just ordered me this holder! I can't wait!

I'm so envious of you for getting this FAB rack! I drooled over it for so long, but finally went the cheaper route w/ the IKEA dvd holders. You'll have to report back to us just how wonderful your new rack is once you get it all set up!!

I got cassette holders at a yard sale for a dollar. DH connected them with a board on one end and set them on a turntable. It works splendidly for SU pads but I am still searching for something for Stazon, brilliance, etc.

I ordered an ink pad unit from suink.net ages ago.... and still haven't received it. Hopefully it will come this week.

Right now I have one kind of like the picture that laurakj showed above, except without the holes for the reinkers and markers... plus mine only holds 50 ink pads, which isn't nearly enough!

My Ikea has not had the Stackebo DVD racks for a VERY long time. I had been waiting to get them. So, on a similar thread a little while ago, someone suggested this stamp pad holder from ebay. I just got mine a couple of days ago, and really like it. The seller was also good to work with, contacted me immediately and let me know what was going on. BTW, it holds 70 ink pads of just about any size.

I don't have an IKEA, so I went with the Ink Pad Palace. It's very inexpensive, made of cardboard, but works great for me. I've had my first one for more than a year, and ordered a second about 6 months ago.

I store mine in a great rack from dek development inc. I use the 4/48 which holds 96 pads double stacked. See the link to the website below. I cannot say enough good things about it.

Check it out.

I like to use a few vintage pieces here and there as accents. Last summer I decided to by antique cheese boxes and cola boxes (think wooden crates) for my stamp pads.

I also have one from suink.net - Love it. I just took the 2 drawers out and stored more long stuff in the shelves.

Thanks for showing the picture of yours! What kind of long stuff do you put where the drawers were?

I can't wait to get mine!!

I have my pastels and watercolor pencils where the drawers were, they just sit in there, so there was no screwing or anything, and on the top shelf I have my Crop o dile and instructions.

Oh good idea, then where do you put the ink cartridges for your wheels?

Do you think the watercolor wonder crayons would fit in there with the drawers out?

The old size container of crayons was to long

I only have a few wheel cartridges, so they are in a basket on my shelf with the handles.

Oh ya. I wonder if the handles could hang on the thingy somehow? I guess I could put them on the top. I have a lot of wheels, but I don't use them much because they are put away.

That is why I took the drawers out, they just held my Stazon's and I rarely used them, and I wanted stuff I would use more in the unit. I use to have my handles on top, but i put them in a basket, and now I rarely use them, so I better put them on top again

The only think I don't like, the reinkers on versa mark and crafts don't fit in the holes, they are a touch bigger :(

I have the SUInk unit, too, and love it (and added the topper)! Holds EVERYthing! Here's a photo of it in my stamping space:

I would not recommend ordering from SUink. I had a terrible experience with them.

Thanks for all the ideas--I currently am using the Color Caddy for my su stamps and I have several old wooden cassett racks for others--my brilliance, stazon, and some of the others do not fit in the cassett compartments--I wrote to the guy at dekdevelopment and he said that he would be happy to customize something for me since I didn't want slots for the pens--so I'm just chiming in to say that they have awesome customer service

Talking another site

Here is another site that has some great stamp pad holders as well as holders for other stamping items. They are are many shows if you want to see them in person. They are great to work with--both are teachers--and the products are wonderful.

Check them out--Barb

I have one from them and they do take a while, but so worth the wait. I have the ultimate with drawers stained. I love it!
