NOT that I "needed it" BUT I bought the 24 pack of Martha Stewart Glitter yesterday at Michaels with my 50% off coupon... $15.00. Just thought I would check to see if anyone had a "thought" on the Glue Pad from Martha Stewart?
I like the idea of being able to glitter an entire stamp but am wondering if the glue pad actually is strong enough to hold the glitter.
I bought the MS glue pad about a year ago. I used it once and it is currently taking up space in the bottom of a junk box. It did not hold the glitter at all. Literally one or two flakes of glitter might have stuck, but that was it. It tried using flock too. I let it dry for over 24 hours and it still rubbed right off. I would suggest you go with something else. I think it was a waste of money.

heat & stick powder is the bomb! After you use it and get any tiny bits of loose glitter off (which isn't much) it sticks like iron! You can rub you finger across it and nary a speck comes off!
psychkim....I don't know about Martha Stewart's glue pad, but I saw a demo using The Essential Glue Pad yesterday at a stamp show and also tried it several times when I got home and it work very well. Once it dries, the glitter is stuck there and doesn't come off. (Obviously, after shaking off the excess glitter before glue dries)
This product is by Tsukineko.
I don't like the heat and stick powder stuff no matter what brand I've tried.
Like some others, I had to try the MS Glue Pad and at first I thought it was useless. After spending some time searching around the net I discovered that "burnishing" the glitter after you apply it helped a lot. Burnishing means to press the glitter into the glue. I use a screw off soda lid to press the glitter into the glue. This improved the glitter sticking to the glue and I'll try to use up the pad this way but I won't be looking to buy refill once the pad has dried up. Heat & Stick is by far a better product.
I bought the MS glue pad as well - it was cheap so I thought I'd try it. I found the glue really sticky but I also burnished the glitter to the glue (I always do with any adhesive and glitter) and I didn't have a problem with the glitter coming off. I do use heat n stick as well and find that works really well also.
I have both the MS and Tsukineko glue pads, they both don't work....at all. Glitter falls right off. I eventually just bought the heat and stick powder from SU, which I should've done right from the start, & saved myself almost $15!
I tried another brand of glue pad (pallette) and found it needed to be used on glossy cs and heat activated and still did not work well. Ackkkk!!! so I bought the MS one and I love it. It does not hold alot of glitter, just enough. Yes, I also found that burnishing made a big difference.
