Ok, I'm Clueless here.
What do you mean 'subscribing"
What are nestabilities?
What is the tan mat you are talking about?
TIA!
I have a cuttlebug that I cut and emboss with. Bought some sizzic dies
from Roberts Craft that they stopped carrying but haven't tried them yet.

Nestablilities are the style name of spellbinders embossing dies. They come as a shape in varying "nesting" sizes.
tan mat- used for dry embossing with a die or an embossing plate. when rolled through, it will squish the paper through the embossing item
You might want to check out the downloads thread. Look for cuttlebug sandwich stacks to learn about all kinds of dies and items that can be used with the machine. Cat has created an awesome spreadsheet that I keep on hand at all times.
I use the great layering recipe I found here for embossing. However, it's not as "embossed" as I've seen on other people's cards. Does that mean I need more shim or less?
I'm using the A, B, Die, 3 pieces cardstock, polymer mat, B.
I just found two great video tutorials on Creating Keepsakes using the Cuttlebug and the Nestabilities. Scroll down the page here: http://tinyurl.com/2xepoz

My question is this - does it cut the tan polymer pad up when you are using it for the embossing part?
I have other Wizard dies that are to be emboosed also and never knew how to do it. This video shows how, but she doesn't mention if the pad gets all cut up when you are using it.

The tan polymer pad you use to emboss does not get cut up,it's pretty amazing stuff!!!! Go for it!!! The dies are amazing when they are embossed!
My trouble is that I get a partially embossed image when I am just trying to cut. If I use less shim, then it won't cut. And I am talking just taking out one thin (cheap) piece of card stock.
Has anyone else had this trouble? Any luck fixing the problem?

Did anyone else notice that in these videos she's using the cutting side of the die against her C plate? I have no idea why she'd want to do that -- the B plates are ready available and cheap to replace. Why mark up the C plate???
For a really good tutorial on using your Cuttlebug and Nestabilities...RUN over HERE....NancyK has a GREAT Tutorial that will put you mind at ease with using these 2 great tools!

If you want to cut out a stamped image or a piece from a photo you will see exactly that youll get the picture where you want it if you do it this way.
I just got my cuttlebug and I have to use way more shims to emboss. I used three chipboards, plus the A and B plates. I also, accidentally, used the C plate for cutting and it did leave a mark, but she's right, I could see exactly what I was cutting. I was cutting out an image.

It is the size of the scallop. The classic has a larger shape scallop and the petite has smaller scallops. If you look closely you can see the difference. The ovals are different too.

actually, i thought i had read the same thing months ago when they first came out. but, the oval shapes are actually different now! don't know how i misunderstood that - might have made a difference in which ovals i had bought.

I understand needing to see what you're cutting out. What I thought was odd was that she cut into her C plate. No need to do that. The B plates are replaceable so that's the one you should always cut into.
i just got my oval nestabilities. tried various sandwiches.
when i tried this one, it not only cut, but embossed at the same time!
A PLATE
B PLATE
DIE CUT SIDE UP
CARD STOCK (to make die cut)
2 PIECES OF CARDBOARD(found in the back of paper i purchased) as the shim
MY GASKET FROM LOWES
B PLATE
If anyone knows where I can get nestabilities or cuttlebug embossing folders at a decent price LMK. My cuttlebug is on it's way to me as we speak!!! YEAH
i get my nestabilities from cut at home they offer a 40% coupon each month. i order one item pre month.
i ordered my embossing templates from joannes ,when they have them on sale and offer free shipping
I signed up for cut at home (thanks ladies!) yesterday and was wondering when I might get the coupon. Please don't tell me I have to wait a month. I am dying for the nestabilities and want them NOW!!!!
The coupon comes pretty fast but it takes quite a while most of the time for the nestabilities. I called and she said they were so popular and that's why it took so long. Took me 3 weeks to get my nestabilities. Just placed another order feb. 1 and it is still in the waiting stage when I check on my account. Sorry, but it is worth the wait for 40% off.

I was shocked at how fast I got my set of classic ovals. i ordered them last week and they arrived today! I must have just hit them at the right time or something...
Apparently they don't always take a long time to get to you.
i just placed my order for another set of dies - this will be the first time i've ordered from Cut@Home. i'm not EVEN nervous about the discount because everyone's posts leave me assured that C@H will get it worked out i also ordered the magnetic pad -- it seemed like this would come in really handy as the few times i've tried to cut the negative [you know, a window in a card] i've had trouble with the die and paper slipping while trying to get the sandwich into the bug.
anyone else used the magnetic pad? was it a waste of a good $6?
I ALSO AM INQUIRING ABOUT USING THE MAGNETIC PAD. AT CUT AT HOME IS STATES TO BE USED ONLY WITH THE WIZARD HAS ANYONE USED IT WITH CUTTLEBUG YET? DOES SANDWICH CHANGE?
I bought the embossing mat set for the wizzard and it has the tan mat in it. Just for your information I have 3 of these sets available for $9.99 if you are interested I know you won't really use the blue embossing mat but if you are desperate to get the tan mat it might be an answer. I did not realize they were out of the mats. Again this is just a thought I am not trying to get anyone to buy them I just know the mats are in the this packet.Email me if you would be interested or you might just try finding the kit somewhere else.
I just love the nestabilities they do stick a bit but once you get use to them they seem to pop right out.

Are there any nestabilities catagories to post to on split coast?
I was wondering if there is a specific place on Splitcoast that a person can go to just for nestability ideas? I think this would be great. Please share if there is.
