Default Ranger Glue N'Seal dried up

I just bought a new bottle - the small size with the brush inside - of the Ranger Glue N' Seal Matte finish. When I opened it up (removed the plastic wrap first) it is not liquid. It is a big glob of glue. It's still pliable but mostly solid. I imagine this is because its an old bottle. I bought it online and don't plan on returning it for the $2 I paid for it.

Does anyone know if I can mix water with this glue to revive it?

I was planning on buying the bigger size container at Michael's and just re-filling the smaller bottle. But, because these containers are sealed with plastic I am worried the bigger jars at M's will be the same. At least I can return it there but last time I checked some of those jars had a layer of dust on them. Anyone had any problems with the Matte Glue N' Seal from M's?

TIA
Charlene

I'd recommend contacting Ranger- there service with this sort of problem is excellent! I bought a hole bunch of DI re-inkers at a craft show, from a few different vendors. I didn't get around to opening them all up straight away, it could have been a few weeks. Then I found two bottles were almost solid in the jar- contacted Ranger, and they sent me two replacements within a few days.

I will give that a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you again for your suggestion. Ranger quickly responded and asked for a few pictures. There should be a code stamped on the bottom of the jar and there wasn't which indicated it was at least 2 years old. I will be sure to watch for that when I go to Michael's to buy the bigger jar to refill my smaller one (after I wash it out). I like the little brush inside this smaller jar.

Now I will be a bit wary of purchasing any types of glue online.

Its good these days to find a big company prepared to stand by their product, and worry that poor products will affect their name. Glad you got it sorted.

The lady at my local store (I'm in Alberta) says this happened to the ones she ordered in the winter months. Apparently if it is frozen, it will do this. According to her there is no way to revive it that she has found.
