I get my cardstock..turn the punch upside down and push the punch all the way up the paper...as far as it can go. I think punch the slit punch and keep moving to the right...it takes some practice at first I was overlapping them..but after doing it a few times you get the feel for where you need to punch the next slit and you keep going until you reach the end of the cardstock. Trim and adhere on.... here was another post at one time along the same lines

Here's a really cool new way to use your slit punch... I just LOVE this idea, but haven't tried it myself.

Smile Slit punch flower

I was playing with my new slit punch and cut out a circle from a piece of floral paper. I slid the slit punch in through the opening left and follow around punching out the scallops. It took a little bit to get the placement right but it looks nice.I have a scrapbook layout on my blog using it this way. It's Friday March 9th post

Cat... that tutorial is COOL. I will have to get one of those punches. I thought the slit punch was something else... that one punch that has like a teeny tiny oval type punch, for the top of a tag or something. No wonder I was confused! I would have never pictured that punch called a "slit" punch. Cool!

I have the slit punch & have done scalloped edges, but now I can use it for a scalloped circle or oval, and I don't need to get a scalloped punch. Oh happy days!
