Hi does anyone have these and can tell me if they are good, I have just had a stamping up party and was wondering what they are like to use. I do already have watercolour pencils, copics and prisma pencils. I have to choose what to spend my hostess money on. Could not really ask demo because it was her 2nd party and was busy sorting out my guests.
I have all of them and love them. I love that they match SU colors when the SU watercolor pencils do not.
They give a very different look (to me at least) from Copics and prisma pencils. Much more subtle than Copics and definitely a watercolor look rather than the blended pencils.
I also like the fact that they blend with plain water instead of a chemical like the pencils. I'm very sensitive to smells.
I love my crayons because I don't have to color the image first. Most of the time they don't even come out of the box. I just pick color up with my aqua-painter off the tips of the crayons right where they lay.

I purchased them when they were altogether in one tin. I love these. I use my aquapainter and sometimes I color with the crayone first then spread with aquapainter, other times I just take color from the crayon with the painter and put it on the paper.
I really love these...rich vibrant colors.
Blessings.
This is one of my favorite ways to watercolor! I love having all the SU colors vs. the limiting pencils. I love that I can color the image with the tips of the crayons and then use the aquapainter to blend for a more vibrant effect. Or I can use the aquapainter and pick up color from the rear of the crayon (I don't use the tips for this as it wears them down quickly and I like to reserve them for coloring directly) for a softer effect. Definitely a good thing!
I love them! I have more control with these than with watercoloring from ink in the lid of the inkpad. The ink tends to "grab" the paper and you don't have as much time to move it, and if you get too much, you're done for! But with the crayons, you can dab at it with a napkin or finger and lift color off, and if it is already dry you can rewet it and lift color. I bought mine way back when they all came in one tin and they have really lasted, too. My kids and I use them. There are soooo many ways to use them, too.
I guess I'm in the minority. I don't care for them. They do not give a very intense color -- very pale and washed out. I prefer watercoloring with the SU ink pads themselves or their reinkers.

I love that you can colour right on the stamp whatever colours you want, where-ever you want. Brilliant on the solid image background stamps for a beautiful watercoloured image. U can pick up the colour with an aqua brush or colour image first and blend. Was playing with these tonight actually...
