I've been out of white cardstock for a while and purchased a few packages at Walmart that I've been using. I finally decided to stock up on the "real stuff" and placed an order from SU. However, when it arrived, I was surprised at how thin the cardstock was. The SU cardstock seems to be the same thickness as the stuff at Walmart. It's not as near as thick as their colored cardstock.
Has it changed in the past five years or is my memory on the fritz?

The thick Whisper White hasn't been around for five years. I'm not sure but I think it's only the last two catalogs. The regular Whisper White, packs of 40, is thinner. Thick Whisper White is great for bases. I love it.

How interesting, I didn't know there was a thick version and a not thick version available. I was just looking at the 12x12 so I missed that but I can see it now in the catalog. Thanks SkyNacho and mungojerry for responding.

I just opened a really old package of whisper white cardstock and it is the same thickness as the current packages. For card bases with more than one or two layers I always use the new heavy whisper white cardstock also. It is wonderful!
Thank you Allistamps123 and postmark for the details. It's been a super long time and my memory was playing tricks on me. I guess I need to use up the packages that I have and hope I can resist ordering more of the thicker stuff. LOL

I came to dislike the SU whisper white. The last purchase was well within 3 years. Too thin. I seek out different brands. I am starting to use Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110 lb. However, it is only 8.5 x 11". But if you want a great white paper for card base, stamping, die cutting this is the one. I got a small quantity from Amazon as I am not a heavy user. Also, look at Gina K Designs also. I hear that her paper is cool. Hope this helps.

Thanks! I use other Neenah paper for my Copic paper so I'll check them out and double order the next time I'm out. The Gina K paper is super super thick! It's great for some things but for me I find it too thick for card bases and general use. However, it's worked both for one-layer cards and Copic coloring together.

I'm looking for nice patterns on double-sided cardstock. Floral would be nice as long as the pattern isn't oversized flowers! I want to begin learning how to make easel cards and for what I have in mind, a small to medium floral pattern would be nice. The other side can be a solid color, but I really think birds would be out of the question! I can't see hacked up birds on the background of a card! Any size cardstock is fine. I've checked Anna Griffin, DCWV, and a few others. I'm not having any luck at all. Any suggestions? Thanks so much everyone!

Try Graphic 45 paper collections. Very beautiful graphics.
Also, Tim Holtz papers are fun. In each paper stack there are full paper designs, then each design is shrunk down to 6x6, and ATC sizes and strip.
Prima has a variety of beautiful collections.
