Default SU! Craft Ink

With the Stamnpin Up! craft ink gone, whats the alternative for embossing?
I was told I could do it with markers. Tried that, didnt work.

I'm really disappointed.

Use Versa Mark and colored embossing powders? Zing makes powders in a bunch of colors, and at least some of them may be close to SU colors? Perhaps SU is going to produce its own line of colored powders to match their inks? Can you write to SU?

This is from Michelle Zindorf. Stamp your image on Versa Mark then onto your colored ink and then paper. Pour on the clear embossing powder - heat.

Won't that transfer some VersaMark onto your dye stamp pad, especially if you have many images to stamp? Though the VersaMark is clear, it's thicker and kinda sticky - not like the dye ink I refill my stamp pads with.

I don't emboss often but I have not noticed any damage to my dye inks after using Versamark first but if you don't mind the extra step/time you could use a Stamp-a-ma-Jig (or your preferred stamp positioning tool) to stamp with the Versamark, clean the stamp and then stamp with the dye ink, apply and heat the embossing powder.

Gave the Versa mark and dye ink pad a try. Worked MUCH better then the marker method.
I didnt notice anything on the dye ink pad afterwards and stamped another image just to see if it changed how it behaved. Didnt notice anything.

Thanks for the help!

The markers could work but only with the Versamark (this is the ink that holds the embossing powder) so if you didn't have a color in an inkpad but had it in a marker you could still emboss (or if the image was suited to multiple colors that is usually easier to do with markers).
