I just got some Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter from Stampin' Up. I am sure there was a reason I ordered it, but not only can I not remember what I saw that I wanted to recreate with the glitter, but I also can't seem to figure out what to do with it at all or how to use it. Could someone please give me some suggestions? Thanks!
use it with heat and stick powder or a glue pad to stamp an image and then cover it in glitter. coat a chipboard shape in glitter, mix it with embossing powder. those are obviously just a few. use it with small beads in a shaker card.
Oh.. the Dazzling Diamonds is so pretty... I use a glue pen and then dump some glitter on it.. glue dots and glitter... sticky strip and glitter... great for center of flowers.. cover chipboard.. it's purty! Pam

Subscribing to this thread. Since I live in Malaysia, I buy things I see in the Catalogue, get them brought to me and then I don't know what to do with them. This site is so good for great ideas and inspiration.

Is there a best way to get the glitter and/or microbeads to adhere? I have used the glue pen, and I like the idea of the glue dots(haven't thought of that one). But are there other adhesives that work well too? I love the love of the glitter, but haven't used it enough because I'm not sure how.

Terrifically tacky tape rolls and sheets are great for glitter and beads - this stuff if industrial strength glue and holds anything!
I LOVE glitter! Put a strip of red line tape and make a nice border on your card. Make a flower center. Stamp a large image (solid or not!) and cover the WHOLE THING in glitter for tons of sparkle! Stamp something with little dots - like the "berries" in SU's new Fresh Cut Notes, and put a little dot of two way glue there and put a little sparkle dot. Cover an image with Crystal Effects and get a little glitter on your finger and just barely dust the image from way up high. Let it dry. It will shock you how much sparkle it adds, and it sparkles even more from a distance. I do this with the bicycle from Time For You and other images. Have fun! Some people do glitter roping, where you make a thick line of Crystal Effects and cover it with glitter for thick heavy sparkle. You can make icicles for winter cards by putting CE on waxed paper and covering it with glitter. Let it dry. Peel it off and apply it to a card on an image like a house, gingerbread house, a window, anywhere that is appropriate for an icicle, even on a tree. Use it to make stars in a night sky. Make sparkly jewelry on a Bella you have stamped. Add a few drops of coloring to a plain glass Christmas ball and let it coat the inside by rolling it around gently, then pour in glitter, shake it around, let drain upside down and you have a beautiful, EASY ornament custom-colored to your decor and the glitter that falls out is beautifully dyed!
Glitter lace:
Using a sticker sheet. its white and has adhesive on the back, peel the backing off, lay a large piece of lace on top. press down firmly,then sprinkle the glitter on top. peel the lace off. You will see the white sticker paper show thru where the lace was'nt ,now sprinkle another color of glitter on top. It leaves a beautiful glitter lace design. Make sure to use extra fine glitter.

SU!'s Heat & Stick powder is great for attaching glitter to a stamped image or to chipboard. You will need to use a slow drying pigment ink or versamark to get the powder to stick. You then heat just until it gets shiny and then pour the glitter on it.
I don't think the H & S powder is strong enough to hold the beads, though. You would be better off with Crystal Effects or the red line tacky tape.
The Scor-Pal website has a competing product for the red stick tape. It is called Scor-Tape. It is just as good as the red stuff and is much cheaper. It comes in various sizes.
I like to color a pretty flower with watercolor crayons or markers, cover the entire image with versamark and then emboss with DD. They are so striking! Awesome cards.

One of my favorite things to do with Dazzling Diamonds is to cover an entire piece with 2-3 layers of clear EP and the last layer sprinkle glitter over the entire piece. I have done a couple of grout-free tiling cards doing this. I also like to take an image and outline it with Sakura's Quickie Glue Pen and sprinkle glitter. Then as others have done use it for flower centers, dots on snowflakes, highlight Cuttlebug embossing folders. This is THEEEEE best glitter. I ordered three bottles at our Hostess Club last Saturday and will put it all in a flat container so I can just dip the piece in the shake it right off. Funny story.....A friend of mine and I made 200 cards for the military and I used quite a bit of glitter on each card. She's new to this world of stamping and really didn't know how to use glitter sparingly. She is a lovely black lady and she was covered from head to foot with glitter. She got it all over her hands and then SOMEHOW it traveled everywhere. I had her in the bathroom with a damp cloth and outside dusting herself off 3-4 times during this episode. Needless to say, we will not be using glitter anymore together! So the moral of this story is, use it sparingly! but have fun in the process!

You can draw with a Sakura glue pen and sprinkle it on then heat it. It looks amazing. You can highlight areas of a stamped image or even vamp up dp that way.
Another way to use it that's amazing is heat and stick powder over versamark. 3 tips for heat n stick powder:
1. Have everything out so you can work quickly
2. Don't overheat the heat n stick
3. Heat after glittering to set.
Looks great on lovely as a tree and is really easy with a teensy bit of practice.
I also use crystal effects to apply glitter. You can sugar your own brads. Just put some dazzling diamonds in the lid, put a little crystal effects or other clear lacquer on the brad and dip it in there. You can leave it to dry in there even, or you can start off with the brad stuck in a cork and that'll make it easy to handle.
C.E. is also a great way to apply glitter to chipboard. I like to do flower centers, butterfly bodies, snow scenes, bubble baths, etc... with it.
I have seen all the glittered brads they sell and have thousands of un-glittered brads. I took my diamond stickles and dabbed a thin spot on a colored brad and it worked. I now can make any colored brad into a glittered brad and the stuff doesn't rub off unce it dries and looks very pretty.
