I was wondering if anyone could tell me if someone else sells the same kind of paper as Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select paper. I would like to order some but I can't justify paying $21 in shipping for paper, and I don't live in the US so I am not eligable for the free shipping. I know others have suggested Georgia Pacific but we don't have it at the WalMart's in Canada. I would really like to have paper that works well with the Copic's. I have used the SU WW but I am not really happy with the results I get. Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Can't help with the PM secret but I do have advice for great paper much cheaper than PTI.
Check out Staples- they sell 110lb cardstock and it works GREAT. I paid $14.00 for 250 sheets which is about 1/3 the cost of PTI. It works really well with watercolors and with alcohol markers like Copics (I use Prismacolor markers).
Office Max sells 110lb even cheaper but I haven't used theirs so I can't vouch for it.

I use the Staples brand cardstock.. quality isn't great. My ink routinely bleeds and its actually quite flimsy and thin. I mostly use it for backings now, not to stamp images.
I still have good quality cardstock from CTMH and even Walmart, so when I'm done with those I am gonna try the Wausau 110lb brand and see if it fairs any better. I believe Office depot and Office max sells it.
Unfortunately I can't give you any ideas about where to buy similar cardstock. I did buy some Xerox 110 pound cardstock from Office Depot and it's nowhere close to Papertrey's quality. I always thought it was pretty good until I compared the two.
Go to any paper distributor and check out their inventory. You can get samples and compare. Probably won't be able to find exact paper but can find something very similar. The stuff at Walmart, Office Depot etc, is generally low grade.
I am in Canada too and have bit the bullet and gotten PTI products-and now I am hooked on their stamps, Perfect Match and CS! I also use GPacific-always stock up when I'm over the border.
Perhaps you could find a PTI buddy who lives in your area and that way you could split the shipping.

I decided that I would bit the bullet and order from PTI, I also found a really nice stamp set, the only problem is that when I get to the checkout with PayPal I am told that I need a credit card because the company does not accept echeck PayPal, I do not own a credit card and I do not want to get a credit card as I don't like the idea of having one. I guess I am just not ment to have the PTI paper in my life. Thanks for all the help though. If anyone has ideas for a sutible alternative I would still like to hear about it, I think that there are a few others that would be interested as well.

Staples sells cardstock in several weights. Are you sure you mean the 110 lb cardstock?
I have never had ink bleed and do NOT consider it flimsy or thin.
Thank you for the site info. I have bought other things from both places and Stamping Bella is in Canada so I won't have the high shipping costs. The Ellen Hutson site though shows the paper as 80 lb not 110 lb, have they changed there paper weight, or is it the same thing just listed differently?
I already have the brilliance graphite ink, but not the memento ink, so I guess that I will have to do a little shopping at Stampin Bella's, and I know that they take PayPal echeck. I guess I just get a little frustrated when online stores say that they take PayPal and then say that you need a credit card, I don't know if it is just me but I don't like credit cards personally, they can get you into too much debt and that is something that I try and avoid (sorry for the rant). Thank you for the information.

LOL me either, Jackie! I actually got a Paypal debit mastercard...I love it! Happy Shopping!
About the weights, there are different "thickness" papers that seem to have the same weight. 80lb. COVER is heavier than 80lb. TEXT weight. The cover weight cardstocks are much heavier, whether they're 80 or 110, so make sure you're shopping for cover if you like a sturdy paper. It has to do with the size of the block of paper they weigh to determine the number.

Thanks for the clarification. Someone (you?) has posted this information before, and the reminder is good to have. It's good to know exactly what the lables mean when you're trying to compare them.
How do you get a PayPal debit mastercard, and do they let you use it on sites that only take credit cards?
Yes, I can use it in stores, at the gas station, and ATM's as well. If you login to Paypal, click on Products & Services (far right tab), there's a link that says Paypal Debit Card (on the bottom of the left column). You can get one there!

I went to the PayPal site, logged in, clicked on products & Services and didn't find any link for PayPal Debit Card. Is there a difference between Canadian and US PayPal? Any help that I could get would be appreciated. I would really like to get this figured out so that I can buy from more online stores with the debit card feature. Thanks
Ok I just went back to the PayPal site and went to the help site there and they are saying that at this time they are not offering PayPal debit cards to Canadian's. So I guess that I am back to square one, and wanting to know about cardstock that is similar to PTI paper. I will see about ordering from Stamping Bella and see how that cardstock works for me and my Copic's. I guess as a Canadian without a credit card I am very limited as to where I shop online, or at least that's how it seems. Thanks for all the information that everyone has given me so far.
Just last week I purchased a pack (250 sheets) of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 lb. cover weight....great paper. But....it's not quite as heavy as the Papertrey Ink white paper.....but still a very nice weight paper.
I really like the Neenah paper too. I was at my paper distributor last week and they gave me a great deal on it. So I bought two packs. I think I am set for paper for awhile. I have found that different papers are great for different things. I love to use a sponge to apply my distress ink directly to my stamped paper sometimes. The Neenah paper doesn't work as well for this effect. My more textured cheaper paper seems to work better for this effect. So experiment. You can go to the distributor and get samples. In two distributors are Kelly Papers and Expedex.
Ok after all the frustration of not being able to use my echeck PayPal at some of the online stores, I went to Stampin Bella and ordered the Neenah Classic Crest cardstock and also the memento black ink, so it should be here in about a week and I can play with that. Is there any online store that sell's it in larger quantities in case I really like it and want to get more than a few sheets at a time, and preferably a place that takes PayPal echeck? Thank you so much for everyone's help and listening to my rants about not being able to use PayPal echeck at some of the online stores, or being able to sign up for the PayPal debit card, us Canadian's/non credit card holders don't get a break sometimes LOL.

Check out California Paper Goods. They have a great assortment of cardstock, envelopes, etc. at very good prices.
Do you have a link to there site? I did get some Neehan Paper today and it is working great, but I would like to be able to buy it in more that a 12 pack if I can.

You could just buy one of those prepaid Visa credit cards, kind of like a gift card, only it's Visa and accepted anywhere.
