The markers are disposable - no refills. :(

Thanks so much for the quick response.
At least they are reasonably priced

Can someone explain Amazon shopping? I have never purchased from Amazon.ca (I am in Canada) and I am wondering how this works. I found a set of 48 markers for $86.58 + $15.00 shipping. There is another set of 60 markers for $78.11 with free shipping. Something doesn't seem right with this.

Are all items purchased on Amazon.ca or Amazon.com safe to purchase? How can you tell if you are buying legitimate product when the prices vary so much from seller to seller.

A lot of items on Amazon are sold by 3rd party sellers. They are listed on Amazon by the person selling them and shipped to the buyer by the seller (unless you can get it shipped to you through Amazon with Prime). These sellers can list the item at whatever price they want and charge whatever amount of shipping they want. This is why there are such different amounts for all of the different varieties of these markers.

The big problem is that these markers are really really in demand right now, so watch out for price gouging! They should not cost more than $3 per marker, and I think that the sets should probably be lower than that per marker.

There is another line of Clean Color markers (Zig Clean Color II) that are NOT real brush tips - those are much cheaper. I wonder if that's what you're seeing there. If those are the real brush markers, grab that deal!

Turns out the $78.11 ones were the nib end markers. A reviewer pointed that out which was very helpful because the pictures look so similar.

But, what is really frustrating is that the $86.58 brush tip markers are now $113.00 today. I had the page on my iPad and when I went back today it was a different seller with a different price. Now I can't find the 1st seller with the cheaper price. I guess you need to buy fast when shopping on amazon.

When you're working with third party sellers, they may be a business or just an individual with a single set. Sorry you missed the good price! :(

I am in Canada also. Remember that exchange rate values will change the costs also.
I recently bought the 48set from BANZAI CANADA for $116.92 CDN. That included shipping and made them $2.44 each.
I was tired of looking around and waiting for a better deal so I just bought them. If you think about tax added in stores...this is the equivalent of buying them for $2.15 plus tax in a store. That's pretty good for a good quality marker.

Would anyone please explain the difference of these markers with other brand such as Tombow? I am so tempted to get a set but I already have a complete set of Tombow and my coloring looks like someone from elementary school. I hate to spend more money only to confirm my limited talent is the reason.

The one big difference is that they have real brush tips. There are lots of tutorials on youtube. Check out jennifer mcGuires tutorial.

Gildnee1 - I also have the full set of Tombow markers and have really loved them, in spite of my limited coloring talents - but being curious I bought a set of 12 of the Zigs. A few things I noticed with the Zigs: as Kathy states 1. they have a real brush tip 2. they are slightly brighter, oh by a degree or two, in color. 3. Some of the colors break down into different colors when you add water. Carmine red becomes absolutely pink.
For me, I like the Tombows better, probably because I'm no artist-but I get more control with the marker tip than with the brush tip....I can get into smaller areas and stay inside the lines better with the marker tip.
Now having said that, the more I've practiced, the more control I've gained with using the Zigs, but they aren't enough of a draw for me to give up the Tombows.
Now there, I've perfectly muddied the water for you

ps...I suggest you buy a couple open stock Zigs to try for yourself because it comes down to personal choice and without the Zigs in hand you have to rely on what others say.

Thought I'd post my comparison for color intensity between the Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and the Tombow markers. I added slightly more water to the Tombows to move the color a bit.
Here you go!

Sorry for the slight blur

I am soo excited my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers arrived from Japan on Saturday (in super quick time too!) So far I am absolutely delighted with them. I have used Daler Rowney watercolour paper (140 lb extra smooth hot pressed) and the markers have blended like a dream. I have a lot to learn yet but I am finding them easier to blend than Copics and I loved the results with them. I have used a water brush to blend and I'm addicted already!

I received my Zig Real Brush Pens this week via Amazon Prime. It pays to watch pricing. Depending on the seller (even with prime shipping), the price varied from $123 to $155 (free two day shipping). If I ordered from one of the same seller with shipment from Japan (4 to 6 weeks), the price was $123 for 60 pens with free shipping the day I ordered. If I ordered via Amazon prime, it was $135. So for $12 more I got it two days later. Right after I ordered, the sets of 60 via prime appear to be sold out. I'm sure they will be back in stock.

I also own the set of 48 Spectrum Aqua markers. They have two tips ... one end a regular tip, the other a very fine tip. They are great quality too.

My Stampin' Up! watercolor paper didn't work well with either type of pens/markers. I found the Crafter's Companion Watercolor Paper is GREAT and can highly recommend it for the Aqua and the Real Brush items.

The Zig Real Brush Pens are in high demand, and the on-line companies that carry them are quickly selling out. As crafters we are spreading the word too quickly, so the supply here can't keep up with the demand.

My only concern with these pens is the storage. I saw Jennifer's video stating that vertically and horizontally were both acceptable. What concerns is that the manufacturer has stated that the Wink of Luna and Wink of Stella pens that have real brush tips too are to be stored vertically (brush tip pointed up). I posted on the zig USA Facebook board with the question so hopefully they will clarify. Here's my first project (purple flower with stem) with the pens. I didn't add any water as I was using a stamped image on regular card stock. The 2nd flower (flower bloom alone) was done with the Spectrum Aqua pens and water.

This makes me frustrated, too I use CamelCamelCamel.com and plug in the price that I want to pay (usually the cheap price I just saw on Amazon and they send a notification when the price drops. They guide you by listing the average price that has been charged for the item in the last few months, and the lowest and highest prices. I've gotten quite a few items after the price has dropped again!

I really want to try these. Do they blend better than the Tim Holtz distress markers?
