Welcome to our month-long celebration of National Scrapbook Day! We hope by holding the event all month to get more participation because we know there are many who work and just have busy lives. So, feel free to jump in anytime this month and do one or all the challenges. We (Motherload aka Cheryl and I) are offering small prizes from our stash to any who do all 10 of our challenges. These challenges cannot be combined with each other, so you do need 10 separate layouts. Deadline is midnight (CST) May 31st.
All challenges will have the same keyword: VSBN24NSD
Copy and paste to be sure you use the correct keyword.
And if you want, you can also include the keyword for our Scrap goals gallery: SBC24MAY
We hope you will join us, even if you are a digital scrapper! We welcome both digital and traditional scrappers.
So, please join us and help us to fill up the gallery with scrapbook layouts and inspiration!
After the 10 challenges are posted, feel free to chat and post your links to this thread so we can check out all your creations and ohh, and ahh.
Remember you can use any theme, just be inspired by our challenges.
Since NSD is May 4th, you just have to think of Star Wars! Right? So you first challenge is to be inspired in any way by the Star Wars saga. It could be as easy as putting a star on your layout, or as complicated as making a special stary background. Or maybe you are inspired by that great music.
Whatever inspires you! I look forward to what you come up with!
PLease tell us in your write up what inspired you.
Remember to use our keyword: VSBN24NSD
And come back and link us to your creation.

We all have scraps of patterned paper. This challenge is for you to find three or more pieces of scrap paper you didn't want to toss but hung on to. But you didn't find a time to use it or didn't know how to use it. Your challenge is to use at least three different pieces of patterned scraps on a layout. You can use them anyway you want: strips, punched items, backgrounds, etc.

We should play a game as part of our celebration. So here is a tic-tac-toe.
See what you will use by using three items in a row, up, across, etc.
I am electronically challenged, so just drew the game and took a photo. LOL
You will have to click on it to enlarge and see what items you will use on your layout. Use keyword: VSBN24NSD

One of the most important aspects of scrapbooking is the journaling, so for our last challenge we will be concentrating on journaling. I challenge you to do one of two things: Strip journaling or one of my favorites hand written journaling around the page. It can be acournd the middle or around the whole outside of the layout. I have seen it both ways and think it adds great interest to the layout besides being informative. Which will you do? I can't wait to see!

I got my first one done but will have to upload it later. My family is off to see the Star Wars exhibit at the Reagan Presidential Library. May the fourth be with you!
I don't think I will be scrapping today because I have to make up a bunch of thank you cards, but here are my layouts for the first three VSBN challenges:
Got a scraplift done for challenge #4 - scraplift your favorites. I lifted one of Lela's LOs. I'm trying to do the challenges in order so I force myself to do the ones that may be harder for me as well. Scraplifting isn't my forte, but I am glad I did this one.
Pia, maybe you can scrap with a clean desk now!
I spent all day looking for something in my craft room! But .i did get a card made for the Free4All challenge today. I will try to scrap tomorrow
I was finally able to get a challenge done!! I was going to work on it today at our craft day but was up at 5:30 so I just finished it up! I am taking other supplies with me today so hopefully I'll get more done or at least started & embellished when I get home.
Here's my take on Challenge #1, May the 4th Be With You.
I broke my rule about doing the challenges sequentially because I needed to complete this layout for another challenge, so here is #6 using Sketch16Jun3.
