I have had a fun day with cards today and was making this card with this 'hip' image (from a RAK from Peggy and friends) for the LSC when I came across the HCE and I realised that it also fitted that one....nostalgic....firstly though I do have to say it was anything but a holiday card, no red or green to be seen....
For the HCE - this card reminds me of the 70's and this 'chick' is wearing my type of clothes....I used to love this style (I was never this slim - sigh!) and the hairband...so c-o-o-l! I remember lace around the jeans and (put on your seat belt for this one - crocheted flowers!!!) so this card is TOTALLY FAB and totally for these challenges!!
Now I have to add....I was only a youngster in the 70's....just out of nappies (well-l-l) but gee, I loved it....suited me right down to the ground...infact we are going back in time for Australia Day in January and having a 70's night...yay!!!!
Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed a little 'trip' down Memory Lane...I would love to hear what you think!

I can sure dig this Linda! Love it! Yes, I do remember when my OLDER brother and sisters would dress up this way. I was just a baby in the 70s you know. I do remember a Halloween though when I used this kind of clothes for a costume. LOL
I love the crochet, the coloring and the papers, everything is so well match. Hip chick for sure, and I'm sure you were the hippest one of all...oh and hum... you still are. TFS

Lol- you are tooo cool sistah! I so remember the lace sewn to the bottoms of jeans (since I was well past the days of nappies!) I also had a very 'cool' leather vest with long fringe teathers down to me 'bum' and metal charms on the front- oh! My Mom hated that thing, and I cringe at the photos now. Thank goodness I can look back, and know I was cool then! Your colors are rich and wonderful! Looks like you have had a wonerfully busy day in the 'therapy room'! Love your work, you Cool Chick!

So groovy! This popped out from the gallery and reminded me of back in the day. I spent weeks embroidering flowers and my boyfriend's name to the bottom of bell-bottom jeans- I was so proud of those. So, your card invokes lots of memories for many of us. It's beautifully done, with rich colors and love that crochet edge. It reminds me of all the macrame stuff we saw in the 70's. Right on, sistah.

Wow, what a great seventies card. I can remember my half-sis (ten years older) dressing like this - not that she was that slim either. What perfect papers, and I love that little strip of lace down the side.

I agree with the others - you've pretty much nailed the era! I was in high school in the early 70's and I remember all the things you mentioned, and then some...
