Barbara stepped in to host the Tea Party today, as Mothermark was busy. Great teapot, great story.
Last time we went to a lighthouse for a party, I had to make an iris-folded one because I didn't have a stamp. Since then I've got the ODBD Light of the World set, so I knew I could use that. I thought I could also use Boatloads of Love for Seth's boat, and then I had the bright idea that I could use them both on a long thin card.
Thank goodness for at least one bright idea today. After somehow using my contrast top-stitching on the UNDERside of a collar, and equally puzzling, having sewn the sleeve placket right on one sleeve and wrong on the other, it was time for a break from sewing and time to come up to my attic.
Base fits an office-size envelope, and is white card sponged with Faded Jeans all round the edge. I stamped the boat and a heavily masked lighthouse on watercolour card. The sea and rock are sponged with distress inks - Faded Jeans and Soot Black. I added Stickles for spray here and there, and drew some grass on the rock. The lighthouse and boat were coloured with watercolours - the anchor is silver, though it doesn't show in the picture. Masked some clouds and dusted blue and grey chalk over for the sky, stamped the sentiment and some birds. Then I added large gold eyelets in the corners for a nautical feel, and put diamond rhinestones in the centre of each.
Not the best colouring, but I had fun - thanks, Barbara.
Oh yes, I can't draw at all, so Harry and Sirius are inside the lighthouse, and Seth is below decks.
I'm about to make some of the peanut energy bars Charlene posted on her blog a while back - I can't think of anything more suitable for a hungry sailor - and some good Irish coffee to beat the cold.

ooooh! This is so perfect. I absolutely love your water. That little ole' faithful tug is just what Seth will want to see on the horizon. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
