I'm finally getting around to uploading some older cards that I posted on my blog--sorry for the delay! Here's what I posted about this one at the time:
It's Blog Hop time at Papertrey Ink! The challenge is to use embroidery thread in an innovative way. I'm not sure how innovative my entry is, since crochet has been around for probably hundreds of years, but when I read the challenge, this is what immediately came to mind. The little holes around the perimeter of the card stock were punched with a needle, using a ruler as a guide (note to self--get one of those paper piercing thingys!). The crocheting was done with a very fine crochet hook (I think it was a 9) and a single strand of pink embroidery thread. Single crochet followed by 4 chain stitches in each hole. You can easily see that my crochet skills leave something to be desired, but stand back far enough and it looks okay. The doily was created from white coated laser printer stock. The rest of the supplies used were as follows:
Card Stock: PTI Stamper's Select White, SU Regal Rose, SU Rose Red.
Ink: Copics (R83, R85, R89, colorless blender), Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Pretty In Pink Craft.
Stamps: PTI Quilter's Sampler
Dies: Spellbinder's Lotus Pendants, Tim Holtz Brackets
