I get together with some stampy friends once a month. Last time we met I showed how I was making backgrounds using distress ink, a brayer, and photo paper, and then we all got to work (play!) making some.
This background was declared ugly by its creator and I was challenged to make something out of it!
I stamped kind koala on the background and then paper pieced the bear and flower and added a few highlights with markers.

You really did make something lovely with that so-called ugly background. I think there's very little beyond rescue, even if it's only for punching or die-cutting. But what I really love is the way you gave the koala a herringbone finish to match the embossed layer.
