I LOVE THE CHALLENGE TODAY - it was inspiring, and it pushed me to create a card I have been wanting to make for the past week.
My BFF has a tire swing in her back yard. I bought this stamp but then wasn't quite sure how to render it exactly. Ta-da, today's challenge to the rescue!! (I even got to use some distress crayons that I bought over a year ago, and they have not yet seen the light of day.)
This is for the Featured Stamper FS563 challenge today, featuring HelenG. I chose to CASE this card. I kept many elements - the tag, distress crayons in same colors, coffee stained background, fussy cut Unity girl as main featured stamp. I changed the girl, added a tree branch, and used a different sentiment.
That tire was difficult to color without it just looking like one large black blob. and fussy cutting the middle of the tire (thick watercolor paper) was interesting too. I had to bust out my distress sanding tool kit from long ago and do some careful filing and sanding.
I also did a technique from years ago that I learned from Mostly Animals. They had one of the original stamp positioners on the market. I stamped my image, left it ON the Misti, colored it, then over-stamped it when I was done coloring it.
I added flicks of drops at the end, not my favorite technique but I wanted to stay true to the original CASE and it does unify the whole look.
I drew the branch, and I drew an extension of the rope so it would be a bit longer to fit on the branch.

I love that you enjoyed the challenge so much! Sometimes, it all just comes together and the final result is worth all the effort - this is clearly one of those times! Such a fun image!
