For Karen's Technique Challenge - we are inking our embossing folders on the inside, spritzing with water and embossing our card panel.
I made two cards today with the technique - You'll find my Valentine card next to this one in my gallery.
I used a 3D Textured Impression Embossing Folder from Sizzix for my Sympathy Card - with these 3D folders you have to spray the water color paper with water to soften the paper to create the really deep impression, so I spritzed the paper, rubbed the - the Distress Oxide Ink over the top piece of the inside of the folder, spritzed the inked folder with water and then placed the watercolor paper inside and embossed it.
I stamped a sentiment in the corner and layered the panel to a slightly larger black panel.
I'm also linking this to the CAS challenge - Memories of Past. Two months ago I made several cards using this embossing folder but just embossed it on Vintage Cream Cardstock - so this time I tried it inking the EF which gives a very different look!
I love how this technique looks - some embossing folders, as well as colors, look better than others - so I find I have to try a few EF's and colors before I get a result I like the look of!
ETA: I did ink the EF but then embossed it which was not the TLC challenge today - I did make a card using the right technique here.

I agree about having to find the right folder and colors for this technique. You sure hit on a great combination! I love, love the look you've gotten with the 3D folder - I'm going to give that a try!

Wow, I am so glad you posted all of your cards. I love the artistic look to the image in this one! The textured EF really gives it a great dimensional look!
