This birthday card is a Design Team inspiration for Try Stampin' on Tuesday Sketch Challenge #422. I turned the sketch 90 degrees to landscape, but kept all the sketch elements. The optional part of this challenge had an inspiration photograph of dream catchers and feathers in pink, aqua and white... so this card meets BOTH parts of the challenge!!!
The card base is the same dusty pink I used for the right-most feather. The light aqua layer is the same as the center feather, and the left-most feather is Stampin' Up! (SU) Pink Pirouette.
The dreamcatcher is a free vector file I got from the internet. I first cut it in all white, then created a circle just a tad larger than the dreamcatcher, and cut it out of the light aqua cardstock, then glued it on top of the white dreamcatcher. The colored feathers were also cut from the same file, then glued on top of the original white ones. To give the card dimension, I attached the dreamcatcher ONLY at the center with a round foam tape circle I cut out of the adhesive foam tape strip using a large whole punch. The center of the dreamcatcher is decorated with a large rhinestone.
The sentiment is from SU stamp set "Piece of Cake". It was stamped using my SU Stamparatus stamp positioner so I could double stamp it to create a very saturated image using SU Flirty Flamingo ink on the same color cardstock.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "3" out of a possible "5" just because I had to resort to a digital cut file that I sized to fit the layout. It would only be a "1" or "2" if you already had a die set with the right size dreamcatcher die.
