For Ky's MIX challenge yesterday . MIX454 Spooky (10-8-21) by Scrapacat at Splitcoaststampers By the time it was live I had made my own mixed media card, but I made this this morning. I don't do Halloween (I know, they didn't have to be Halloween) and I don't do spooky. But I was inspired by some flowers I saw last week in the Botanic Garden which made me think "ghost flowers" (photo attached in challenge thread). And I had loved what Karen did with a stencil and lift-ink for Lisa's Thursday challenge.
Mediums: Alcohol inks, acrylic paints, vinegar and bread soda, Stickles and Liquid Pearls (Ok that's just more acrylic, really) and luster rub-on.
So, I pulled out an AI background on Yupo, and cut two stencils, the leaves are an old Sizzix die and the lily is TH Wildflower Stems. I gut them from Duralar, and then used alcohol on an old dried-out wet wipe to lift the ink. I used tiny dots of Liquid Pearls for the pollen on the stamens. I added some earth using the sand from Shore Thing, but you can't really see it, as it ended up being covered by the sentiment.
Sentiment stamped on vellum and embossed along each edge with a stylus, as well as a little doodling. I edged everything above the sentiment with Twinkle Stickles, my least favourite of the "clear" ones, but perfect here.
The base is from Anita's erupting paint TLC, I made a couple of green backgrounds because I always need greens. I embossed it with a star ef, rubbed with a pearly luster rub-on and sponged the edges lightly with Soot Black distress.

Wow, that's a real mixed media, I'm glad you're using papers you've already made I often forget to open my drawer with papers I keep from other challenges or techniques, The green base makes your main panel pop and I love the mysterious look from your flowers

Wow what a great BG. I love the colors and that image works so well to let the BG really show beautifully. I love when I can pull from already created BGs. I just found one this week that ended up in my scrap drawer. Now I need to find a way to use it.
