Chris is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. She has given us a theme that says "Nature" to me: Garden Green, Soft Sea Foam, Soft Suede and a dessert option of any animal. This older stamp set and a Christmas theme immediately came to mind.
I stamped the deer on Soft Suede cardstock with Soft Suede ink, then die cut. Stamped the plaid background on Soft Sea Foam cardstock with Garden Green ink, then used a fine-tip Sharpie in a color close to Merry Merlot (a permitted neutral) for my accent stripe, drawn carefully with a ruler. The greeting was stamped and die cut, and the ovals were cut from Soft Sea Foam cardstock and gold foil.
I have no idea what possessed me to try to pop the deer up on foam tape! There are a zillion teensy pieces of foam tape behind the deer's body, legs and antlers, but he's popped up! A few sequins to add a little sparkle, and my card is done!
I am looking forward to seeing many interesting animals in the gallery this week, and I hope your creation will be among them!
Accessories: Dashing Deer dies (SU), Holiday Scripts dies (Pretty Pink Posh), Merry Merlot Fine Tip Sharpie, Stitched Oval Frame die (MFT), sequins, foam tape

Fabulous. Love the tone on tone deer. Terrific idea to add to the plaid stamp to enhance the Christmas look. The color is so pretty. Wonderful inspiration for the challenge colors.

Barbara, it's never to early to start Christmas cards! I enjoyed reading your write up on how you created the plaid, it's a marvelous idea to add the accent line. I would have never thought of it! Beautiful use of Chris' colors this week! TFS
