This is the card that I made for this previous week's color challenge (Creamy Mossy Apricots) and sketch challenge. The narrow strip in the sketch really made me want to pull out my Starstruck set and finally ink-it-up! I got it in my starter kit and haven't even used the poor set yet! Between the colors, sketch and main stamp set, I felt like my card needed a kind-of boho. distressed look. So, that is what I tried to do.
The main bg layer is apricot appeal and is matted with mellow moss and cameo coral. I pulled out the flowered bg from Boho Backgrounds and I used my SU! markers to ink it up. I colored the blooms cameo coral and the stems mellow moss. I stamped it off once and then on the apricot panel. I love how it turned out, but this took FOREVER!!! I then inked up the Sanded bg with creamy caramel ink and stamped it off once and then stamped it over the entire bg panel. The horizontal layer is creamy caramel and is matted with mellow moss. I stamped the Sanded bg on it in caramel ink, and then I stamped the sentiment (from True Friend) on it in mellow moss ink. The vertical (top) panel is whisper white and is matted with mellow moss and apricot appeal. I sponged the edges of the whisper white with apricot ink. I used the 1" circle punch to create the cameo coral mats and I punched out the stars (from Starstruck) with the 3/4" circle punch. I inked up the stars with my SU! markers. The top, middle, and bottom stars are colored with mellow moss and creamy caramel. I ran the edges of these circles in the mellow moss ink pad. The other two stars were inked up with the mellow moss ink pad and the edges of the circles were run in the caramel ink pad. The star layers are up on dimensionals.
I added the antique brass brads above and below the sentiment, it just felt like the space was empty. I used my distressing tool on ALL of the edges of ALL of the panels, even on the circles. I wasn't sure how this card would turn out until it was finished, and I am so happy with the rough and weathered look it has.
Thanks for looking and I hope you like it!
