My sister, Sally, turns 50 this summer. We been kinda riding her a lot about it this past year. After seeing this, y'all will all be glad you're NOT my sister. I had this vision in my sleep last night, then tossed and turned till daylight so I could start it. It started out small in my mind, then mushroomed into this creative genius monstrosity. The card is 5 1/2 x 7, to fit the mouse images.
In the Red Hat society, if you're under 50, you can belong, but HAVE to wear pink and lavender. When you turn 50, they have a "reduation ceremony" and you can change your hat. So there wasn't enough room for all those hats, so she's just starting out with a lavender purse and lavender shoes, which becomes red and purple. I thought it was genius, anyway. In retrospect, I might've made a pretty, gushy, flowery card sympathizing with someone crossing over to old age, but I didn't. Girls' just gotta have fun!
After I sponged on the red around the edges, it still looked kinda blah, so I spsonged on VersaMark then Holographic iridescent EP and heat set it. That helped. Her necklace is Mill Hill seed beads glued on, as well as on the shoes. Found one feather in my "I'll put it here and organize it someday" drawer, as well as the big flower sequin. Hats off was stamped with red pigment ink and red glitter EP and heat set. The inside of the card...well, that speaks for itself, I guess. The Congratulations bit was done on my computer.
I might give Sally a couple of glasses of white Zin or a mararita before I give her this card.
