Well this idea for a card for this weeks Tea Pot Tuesday challenge, has been floating around in my head since Tuesday morning, but this is the first chance I've had to get to it. I wish I had a smaller iris image, but this one willl have to do.
Isn't it nice that this week's sketch and todays Ways to Use it challenge work so nicely together, since we had to use odd numbers of things. I have three individual images and three butterflies and nine rhinestones and one paper lace strip of five scallops (though one is hidden under the iris image)
So here's my story about Belassiz's love life. Bodacious and Bernarde are in a contest to decorate Belassiz's villa to win her hand. Each has to decorate half. Now Bernarde might have the upper hand in the decorating department since he is a professional decorator and so we tea party attendees are trying to help the Macho Bodacious in his suit for the fair and fluffy cat whom he loves. I advised Bodacious to let his love speak for him. What does he know about Belassiz? What does she love? These are things he should bring into her home.
She is a delicate and lovely cat, but a cat none the less. She loves the challenge of the hunt, as much as he loves the challenge of the bull ring. But she is a sensitive beauty, not to be found in the barns, but in a villa. So I am helping Bodacious to create a beautiful aviary with trees and flowers (especially Belassiz's beloved iris) and an exotic tile lined fish pond. There will be bees and butterflies buzzing and birds flitting in the braches, all to delight the heart of a cat. For her softer sensibilities, there will be beautiful silk and chintz covered cushions under a lovey stripped awning for when the sun is too hot in the sky. There will be fountains with water sparkling like diamonds. The gold fins of the fish will capture her attention and imagination for hours. Best of all, there will be a wide doorway and path so that Bodacious, who after all is a very large bull, can join his love any time by a quick trot from him nearby pasture. Here they can enjoy each other's company without fears or tears if Bodacious move in a less than delicate manner.
I don't care how good a decorator Bernarde is. Bodacious will surely win the day, because he knows his love and what makes her happy. How can a woman of any kind resist someone who is thinking of those things that she loves!

Your story is fantastic and your card is too! I love the way you've woven all those things together as you did with the challenge elements. Wonderfully done!
