The only thing I would add is turning your paper over after you do the 2 diagonal folds - then fold in half. That way, the square paper folds so easily into a triangle. BTW, my friend made 65 of these for her Christmas cards last year - so it's that simple! HINT: I punched a hole at the bottom of the top layer for the saying/graphic, stamped a matching piece of white cardstock and adhered it on the back to perfectly center the stamp in the punched opening.

I made quite a few of these trees for some of my Christmas cards last year.
They are great since they bring another dimension to it. You will get many compliments! Love the red and white together, TFS!
