Made as a Design Team card for Try Stampin' -Or Not- On Tuesday sketch challenge #340: http://trystampinontuesday.blogspot.com/ with an optional theme of "petite patterns".
I'm working on my Christmas cards this month, so turned to my stash of retired holiday Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up! Anyone who knows me knows my weekness for aqua and teal, so of course I went to the sets called Nordic Noel and All Is Calm. The main front panel is a flurry of snowflakes blowing in the wind, so I used that as my inspiration for theme/color. This was a great opportunity to use scrap pieces that I just couldn't bear to throw away!
The card base is SU's retired Blue Bayou cardstock. So, I wanted my matting to pick up on that color as well. The two small-pattern pieces were from the same DSP set and color family. The lined-up snowflake piece is 2"x 3-1/2" (matted with 2-1/4"x 3-5/8" Blue Bayou). The spotted piece on top of that carrys over all the colors from the card base and snowflake pieces. It measures 1-1/2"x 3". The DSP pieces were glued to the matting using Tombow glue. Then the complete matted assembly was attached to the card front panel using Adhesive Foam Strips.
The tiny sentiment (carrying on the option thene of "petite patterns") was stamped onto Whisper White Thick Cardstock, then trimmed to span just a little beyond the left and right edges of the spotted paper. It was attached with Adhesive Foam Strips.
I don't often do super easy cards, but this one for sure was quick and easy.... hence the difficulty rating of "1".
