I made this card for today's inspiration challenge. Amy is our hostess today and she chose a fabulous site called, "Unsplash" that is just filled with glorious images. Fun!
I also made this card for this week's Alphabet Challenge. Ann is our hostess and the letter this week is D. The D in this card is for the diagonal stripes.
I am so longing for spring to get here so to see some flowers. So I put the word flowers into the search bar at Unsplash and the 2nd photo left me in complete awe: https://unsplash.com/photos/mNz9Pa3tz34. I loved these multilayered coraly/pinky flowers and the bit of aqua blue too.
I somehow pulled out copic markers for orange flowers rather than coral like I intended, but in the end, I really love the happy orange color of these flowers. I masked off the outer edge of the card base with 5x7 PostIt notes, then sponged in Tumbled Glass ink so it was heavier on the edges and lighter in the middle. Die cut the stripes cover plate and glued this in place. Arranged the flowers in multiple ways and was stumped. It still needed something. Not until a black banner that was already on my desk landed on the card did I know what to do.
I curved the stamp in the misti to match the curve in the banner, then heat embossed it using white embossing powder. Rearranged the flowers a bit more, held them in place with Glad Press n Seal, added glue and glued the flower cluster into place on the card front. Then glued the banner in place.
Thank you Amy and Ann for the great challenges and thank you for looking! ~Karen.

Such a beauty, Karen. I love the colors you have used and the wonderful coloring. The banner topped off the card perfectly. Love the die cut and I am quite sure I have it.
