This card was made for a sketch challenge that also had the option to create a card that was inspired by a book or a movie. The movie/book I chose was the 2008 "Bottle Shock"/"A Judgement in Paris that tells the story of a man who made chardonnay wine and thought he had aged it so long that it was ruined, but turned out to be the surprise American wine that in 1976 was judge superior to French chardonnay's. I made this as a birthday card because of the sentiment in the set that says "Wine improves with age...".
The card base is Stampin' Up! (SU) Kraft cardstock that I ran through my Big Shot inside a cork embossing folder.
The light green panel is 5"x 31/2". The embossed brown panel is 3-1/4"x 4". All three images were stamped using the SU stamp set "Half Full" with SU Crumb Cake ink.
I used Copic markers to color the images to represent the famous Napa chardonnay. They were scanned cut them out with my ScanNCut digital cutting machine. I cut out three extra bottle shapes and 2 extra glass shapes to stack and glue on the back of these two figures to add depth to the card. The bottle and the wine glass were coated with Glossy Accents to make them look glass-like.
The sketch required a stripe, so I used a golden color that matched the Copic yellow I used for the wine bottle capsule. The three dark brown pearls were placed per the sketch as well.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". Having dies or a cutting machine to cut out the shapes makes it so easy!
I have lots of wine-loving friends, so this well be perfect for the next one who has a birthday!!!
