I started with a 3-2/4"x 5" piece of watercolor paper that I misted heavily with water. I then used the dotted stamp from Stampin' Up! (SU) "Dragonfly Dreams" to stamp randomly using two pink colors and a gray, while misting with water in between each color to make the stamped images soft and blended. I also used a paper towel to "sop up" excess water a couple times while stamping. This made the stamped image even more soft and ethereal. I then set the wet watercolor paper aside to dry overnight.
The next morning I glued the watercolor panel to a black panel that was 4"x 5-1/4", then glued these to the SU Pink Polish card base. I then stamped the sentiment from the SU "Thoughts & Prayers" set using black ink at the bottom of the card front.
I die cut two sets of dragonfly clusters using the SU "Detailed Dragonfly" dies and then glued them together only where their bodies were (i.e. the wings were not glued to one another). I then put a small piece of foam tape behind each of the bodies and attached the dragonfly cluster to the card front. I wanted something a bit more embellished, so used Wink of Stella to add shine to all the dragonflies. If I were to do it over again, I would only put the shine on the wings, and not the bodies. After the Wink of Stella was dry, I "fluffed" the two layers of wings to separate them a bit for added dimension. Finally, I added 3 pink sequins to the front by dropping a small dot of Glossy Accents into the center of each sequin to hold it in place.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". The misted watercolor technique is really easy, and die cutting the dragonflies and attaching them is simple, too.
